The best SPOT in Pittsburgh for your orofacial myology needs!
"Alyssa Stiles at Pittsburgh Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, was my last hope to correct a gaping bite issue. Despite three sets of Invisalign braces, my 'bite' on the back right side stubbornly refused to meet. The orthodontist gave me two choices. Live with my bite 'as is', or contact Alyssa to see if she could try and correct a tongue thrust that dated back to my childhood. Not wanting to give up, I called Alyssa.
Alyssa quickly got to work and started me on a program of daily exercises. Each week we met for ½ hour via Facetime to review exercises, answer questions and add new exercises or tasks. Cannot say enough for Alyssa’s kindness and interest in helping me find ways to fix my tongue thrust. After three months, I noticed my tongue resting peacefully on the roof of my mouth instead of swimming around without a home. Chewing became less of a chore and I started adding foods such as roast beef, back to my diet.
My work is not done; but the improvement in less than a year is dramatic. Many thanks to Alyssa for giving me a second chance! Bonus – my orthodontist has agreed to try another round of Invisalign braces." - J.W.
