TOTS Training

I have been busy traveling the east coast in the past few months, attending THREE different myofunctional therapy-related continuing education courses!

I started in MD with Ellen Carlin's Tongue Tie & Oral Dysfunction: Clinical Applications course, where the focus was on infant feeding. My biggest takeaway was how to prepare infants for frenectomies and infant-friendly post-operative stretches to optimize outcomes.

The following day I attended Linda D'Onofrio's Mastering Oromyofunctional Therapy course in NJ, and I've already started implementing some of her ideas into my practice.

Just this past weekend I was back in Baltimore for another class. This one was by Robyn Merkel-Walsh of TalkTools on Functional Assessment of Tethered Oral Tissues (TOTS), which covered topics like the functional assessment of the tongue, sensory awareness, pre/post frenectomy stretches.

One other course I've been wanting to attend is Autumn Henning of Chrysalis Feeding, LLC's TOTS: Tethered Oral Tissues Specialty Training. Pittsburgh Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy will be hosting that course in Pittsburgh this October! To register for this course, please use the link below:
